Cameras
There are several different types of cameras on the market today. Most modern cameras use a Closed Coupled Device (CCD) chip to receive their information. CCD chips provide for a number of unique features, by camera, that effect the images delivered to a recording device. Standard Resolution, High Resolution, Low Light, Day / Night Auto Switching, Extended Dynamic Range, Wide Dynamic Range, IP Addressable and a variety of combinations.
The physical attributes of most cameras can be described as either a Fixed-Position camera or a Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) camera. Fixed-Position cameras are just that. A camera that is installed to observe and record a single location or area of focus 24/7. A PTZ camera is also installed in a single location; however, it has the capabilities to pan, tilt and zoom onto a subject anywhere in its spinning radius.
Both types of cameras can be installed in such a way as to be Environmentally Secure and or Vandal Resistant.
WinDSX DVR Software Integration
WinDSX now has the ability to integrate with different Digital Video Recorders. This integration allows stored and live video from the DVR to be accessed within the DSX software. All video is transmitted across a Local Area Network connection. Real time video can be automatically displayed in response to alarm events. Additionally the operator can request real time and stored video from the alarm acknowledgement screen or from any input/output or camera icon. Recorded Video can also be viewed while running a History report. Simply highlight the event you would like to see the video for and click the “Show Video” button. The system will find the video that matches the event time and date and display it on screen.
